Absolute proper motions of open clusters. I. Observational data Mean proper motions and parallaxes of 205 open clusters were determinedfrom their member stars found in the Hipparcos Catalogue. 360 clusterswere searched for possible members, excluding nearby clusters withdistances D < 200 pc. Members were selected using ground basedinformation (photometry, radial velocity, proper motion, distance fromthe cluster centre) and information provided by Hipparcos (propermotion, parallax). Altogether 630 certain and 100 possible members werefound. A comparison of the Hipparcos parallaxes with photometricdistances of open clusters shows good agreement. The Hipparcos dataconfirm or reject the membership of several Cepheids in the studiedclusters. | Mesures de vitesses radiales. VIII. Accompagnement AU sol DU programme d'observation DU satellite HIPPARCOS We publish 1879 radial velocities of stars distributed in 105 fields of4^{\circ} \times 4^{\circ}. We continue the PPO series \cite[(Fehrenbachet al. 1987;]{Feh87} \cite[Duflot et al. 1990, 1992 and 1995),]{Du90}using the Fehrenbach objective prism method. | Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope Near-Ultraviolet Bright Object Catalog We present a photometric catalog of 2244 objects detected by theUltraviolet Imaging Telescope in the near-ultraviolet (NUV; 1650A <λ < 2900 A) during the Astro Space Shuttle mission. Sources inthe catalog are as faint as m_nuv_ ~ 18.8, or f_nuv_ ~ 1.1 x 10^16^ ergss^-1^ cm^-2^ A^-1^, but the survey is not complete to this level.Optical catalogs were used to cross identify sources and derive NUV - Vcolors. A majority of the objects (88%) do indeed have proposed opticalidentifications from catalogs, and most are stars. Our purpose increating the catalog is to form a database useful for identifying veryblue objects and performing Galactic UV stellar population studies.
| Combined UBV and UVBY photometry of open clusters. I - NGC 1502 For a total of 24 stars in the field of the heavily reddened opencluster NGC 1502 UBV and uvby photometry was obtained, and 19 stars wereclassified definitely as members. From the photometric results a clusterage of 11 Myr was derived, with 960 pc as its distance and E(B-V) = 0.78mag as mean reddening of the cluster. From the reddening of theforeground stars, the intracluster reddening has to be smaller than 0.2mag. The value of the color-excess ratio E(b-y)/E(B-V) = 0.770 leads tothe conclusion that in the spectra of the cluster stars a very broadbandstructure with a central depth of about 0.04 mag is present.
